Problem Sharing Sage Files After Win 10 Update

Hello,

One of our PC's has been having issues accessing shared folders in our network. This PC has network sharing and visibility turned on, but they are still unable to access anything in Sage. I believe that this is a network permissions error, but I was wondering if anyone else had similar problems after recent Windows 10 updates.

The user is in the same workgroup as other network PC's/users and ultimately should have access, but she is unable to view other users and shared files/folders.

I have had Windows 10 updates turn on "Password protected sharing" and that can cause the problem you're having. In a Windows 10 network you either have to set up a user name and password on the "server" to match the user name and password on each workstation that connects to it, or you need to turn off password protected sharing. Obviously that is less secure but it greatly simplifies managing your network. 
 Go to the computer that the Sage 50 data resides on and follow the steps in this Sage knowledgebase article How to disable password protected sharing

Just want to share that you can have data corruption if you are running on a wireless connection. All network computers should be hardwired.
