Sage 50 Accounting 2020 and Windows 2012 R2

SOLVED

Hello Everyone,

I have noticed that, when attempting to run the Sage 2020 Accounting upgrade on a Windows 2012 R2 machine, I get a prompt that says that the operating system is not supported. If I go back and look at the Sage 2019 system specifications, I see the same thing, however, our client's upgrade had no issues upgrading to 2019 from 2018 last year. Did something change? It would seem foolish for Sage to not support an operating system that is still supported by Microsoft. I have attempted the following:

- Different AD accounts (to make sure that there wasn't something specifically admin related going on)

- Manually running the update as admin as well as in compatibly mode.

- Rebooting.

- Manually running Sage as admin to allow for the update to download and run.

So far, I have had no luck at all. I found the following post:

https://www.sagecity.com/support_communities/sage50_accounting_us/f/sage-50-accounting---u-s-edition/131955/sage-50-quantum-2020-won-t-install-on-server-2012-r2

This shows the same issue, but it does not show any type of answer even tho it has been marked as answered. The answer seems to be focused on getting Sage on the workstations, but we need it upgraded on the clients server first.

Just an FYI, I did run into this issue late last year. I ended up having to download and install Sage instead of go through the upgrade process. That was able to work and the client is able to access their one company file, however, this seemed like just a band-aid on the actual problem. The client who I am experiencing the issue with now is an accounting company and I am trying to keep the upgrades clean.

Thank you for your time.
