Cannot locate JRNLHDR.dat?

SOLVED

I have a company located in a network drive K:\Company\hhm and this is the directory I use to open it in peachtree. Now, when I'm trying to check print I receive an error saying it cannot open K:\Forms\JRNLHDR.dat. I'm quite new to peachtree but I understand that the problem has something to do with the data path, for some reason the file is mapped outside the company folder itself? I have located the file in K:\Company\hhm but I'm not sure what to do. Any advice would be appreciated.

Upon further examination, I have found out that the error does not persist in the server pc where the data is located, just computers trying to access it through a mapped drive. Also the administrator account receives no problems whatsoever on any computer as I've tested. The problem still persists but I think it is safe to say my files are fine and there is no virus.

It sounds like perhaps your data path on the machine receiving the error may be pointing to the wrong place. This article in the Sage Knowledgebase will provide you instructions on checking your datapath. In your case, it sounds like the datapath should be K:\ Company and may be pointing to K:\Forms. If the datapath is pointing correctly, when you get to the Open Company screen, I would suggest selecting Browse instead of selecting the company that is displayed so that you can find the copy that is in the correct location.

Thank you for the suggestion. I reinstalled Peachtree on my computer using that path and the error now disappeared. I'm quite inexperience with the software still and I'm concerned if changing the path will affect the server computer and other computers with Peachtree that are connected to the database. The error seemed to have sprung out of nowhere, we have always used the same data path for many years but just one day it suddenly stopped working correctly. Thank you again!
