Hello all,
Hoping for your opinions. The company I work for currently, and has been using, Sage 50 for over 8 years. It has served us well in the past, but recently we've been starting to have issues. We have a server with Sage 50 that holds the data/companies, and computers on the same network that connect to the server. We constantly have issues where we get error messages on the networked machines about another user is already logged in, or Peachtree cannot start, etc. The solution is usually to just restart the server then restart the networked PC's and it works until it doesn't. That is the biggest issue, others are peachtree running slow, not starting, etc (but usually a server reboot fixes it..) This is on Sage 50 2022.
I'm not sure where to go from here, we are heading in the direction of upgrading to a different product, but not sure what suites us. Sage 100? Sage 50Cloud? I want to think that if our sage data/companies were hosted on the cloud it would make things easier.
We also have never really done any cleanup/purging of data.. Do you think this is something that would help with some of the issues we're seeing? Our backups (including attachments) are getting close to over 50GB's for 1 company.. And to be honest, a lot of these issues started happening when we switched from paper to attaching documents into peachtree.
Too Long version:
- Our Sage 50 isn't working for us
- Should we consider upgrading to a more robust sage product, if so what is recommended?
- Should we do a purge ASAP to see if this will fix issues in Sage 50?
Thank you for your time!
