Can I reconcile my bank accounts daily?

SUGGESTED

I am new to the bookkeeping position I was 3 months behind on reconciling some accounts and it is took much longer than expected.... Going forward I would like to reconcile it daily. Would that cause an issue with Sage if I check off the transactions as they hit my bank account?

Thank you in advance for any help!

I reconcile our company's checking accounts daily in Sage 50.  (Note:  I do NOT use the "automatic download" from our bank to Sage 50.) I open the bank's website to view transactions, and I also go to "tasks", "account reconciliation" in Sage. At the bottom of the reconciliation window, there is the "Statement Ending Balance", where I enter the current balance shown on the bank's website.  This will trigger the "unreconciled difference" to show the difference between Sage and your bank.  I check  off the deposits and checks that have cleared the bank since the last reconciliation.  If there are any automatic withdrawals, I enter those into Sage and then check those off on the reconciliation window.  I then turn my attention to any electronic receipts that our customers sent in.  I apply those receipts to the appropriate customer's invoice in Sage, and then check off those receipts in the reconciliation window.  At this point, my reconciliation balance at the bottom should equal the bank's website balance, and the "Unreconciled Difference" should be "0.00."  I then click "OK" at the top of the Account Reconciliation window.  HERE is an important thing to note:  When I open my account reconciliation window in Sage, I always make sure the "Statement Date" selection is the last day of the month I'm working in.  For instance, this morning, I will open the account reconciliation window and select the "Statement Date" as "May 31, 2022."  It will show me everything I've cleared up in May up through yesterday and also everything that is still uncleared.  After I finish reconciling for today and click ok and close that window, I know that the next time I open up the reconciliation window, it will automatically want to advance the "Statement Date" to the end of next month (June 30, 2022) AND it will only show me the transactions that have NOT cleared.  So I go to the "Statement Date" selection and select the end of this month (May 31, 2022), and it shows me the way it was yesterday when I ended the reconciliation showing all the cleared transactions, the Statement Ending Balance from yesterday and an unreconciled difference of 0.00.  Just like when I closed it out yesterday.  The only time I advance the month is when I actually get to the next month and will then enter the last day of that month as my Statement Date.
