There is no a file in Sage 50 that you can open to find the password. The .CAX files do tell you the user name and it is case-sensitive.
Try using Admin and the password they think it is. I do bust passwords, but there is a fee for my service. I would also need to know the build of the software to make sure I have the version loaded in my computer.

You should be able to contact Sage Customer Service at 866-747-3888 and select Option 3 for assistance with a password reset.
Sage will only update your password if you are in a current Sage Business Care Plan. Also Sage is only selling subscriptions at this time, we are still selling Traditional licenses.
