Upgrading Sage 50 Accounting 2018 to Sage 2023

Hi,

I am currently working with the 2018 version of Sage 50 US.
And I got an upgrade alert to 2023, and if I am interested in making that change. My doubt is:
Does downloading the Sage 2023 installer and installing it recognize or migrate my 2018 license, or would I have to purchase 2023 licenses.

Additionally, I have my access to Sage Customer Portal and there I have in activation codes, a serial for Sage 2023, does that work for me?

    Hi David,

    You can install the sage 50 2023 program over the 2018.  At this time, all data would migrate to the new program with the built in wizard. 

    Currently 2016 and higher will migrate to 2023.  Anything older needs an outside firm to perform the migration for them.

    If you have not purchased 2023, it is possible that you will not be able to activate the product license you currently see in your portal. Once you install 2023 you will not be able to go back to 2018 as the Pervasive Database for 2023 will not recognize 2018. 
    make a backup of your company, install 2023 to a new program and data path, then restore your backup using 2023.

    id probably contact Sage to verify the 2023 serial number is valid before you buy it.
