Sage 50 September 30 2023 TLS Cutoff

Hi all.

A client of mine received a notice that older versions of Sage 50 will stop working after September 2023. The client only references the program on occasion but doesn't actively use it anymore.

According to a couple articles it looks like the issue only affects if the program has to be reinstalled or installed from scratch. It will be unable to activate to the license server. I'm trying to find out if this is the case. Will the customer still be able to open Sage 50 after September 30th but not reinstall?

The client has zero use case to do any further work in newer versions.

  • This is the message I am receiving from Sage:

If you are using Sage 50 version 2020.1 or older, on September 30, 2023 your software will generate an error that will prevent you from accessing it.
This not a drill, this is not hyperbole!
Your time to make a plan is NOW!

I would like Sage to clarify that actual access has been cut off on that date.
