Why do I have to convert my 2015 data again?

Cannot find my company after installing / upgrading. How can I locate my company?

Do I need to install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 in order to download?

  • Hi, regarding discontinuing of my product, what if I don't need any new features, or, what if I can't afford to pay almost $1000 for the newer version? My product will still continue to work won't it? I have to say I think it's so wrong that software companies are more and more frequently discontinuing versions that are 2-3 yrs old which forces businesses to buy new when they don't even need it. We are a mom and pop and THE ONLY reason I use peachtree is because at one time our inventory was so huge PT was the only software that could handle the thousands of parts we carried. We have one service tech - my husband - and one office person - me - so we don't need all the bells and whistles. Will my software continue to work or will one of the updates render it unworkable after a certain date? Thanks for any info you can give me.

    Hi Roberta,

The product will continue to function. However if you have any services such as payroll or Sage Payment Solutions, those will stop working. We will no longer udpate the software from the date of obsolescence.

  • Kathleen:

I found a mistake in your Sage 50 2015 System Requirements PDF file.  You state that all you need is Microsoft .NOT Framework 4.0 however Sage 50 still uses .NOT 3.5 calls as well.  If you only install .NOT 4 and not .NOT 3.5 then Sage 50 will not install or run properly.

Therefore please update the System Requirements so it shows both .NOT 3.5 and .NOT 4.0.

And yes, it's .NOT not .NET.  .NET is slow, fat and a total waste of processor time.  Just look at Peachtree's speed before .NET was implemented and you'll see just how much FASTER Peachtree USED to me.

I also have a question related to Roberta's comment about upgrading.  At this point we have decided not to pay for the upgrades and continue to use it as is, however, we have a new computer, are we still able to download/transfer our information to the new computer?  Thank you.

HI DJG. What version of Sage 50 are you currently using, and what OS will you be installing on?

  • I have Sage 50 installed. Latest version in 1/1/15.  I received email Dec. 8, renewal in November. This email had a download of Sage 50 2015.  When I downloaded it said already had a version. So am I correct in reading your post, that I do not need this download?  It has a different serial number than my installed one. Thank-you.

  • in reply to jenni5672

Yes, you are correct. If you have Sage 50 2015 version already installed do not reinstall it again. Now to your email. You mentioned that the email had a different serial number. What flavor of Sage 2015 do you have installed? Is it the Sage Complete 2015 version. If so, Sage will no longer be carrying the Sage Complete version anymore. All customers using Sage Complete versions will go to Sage Premium version.

Was the serial number in the email for Sage 50 Premium 2015? If it is all you need to do is enter the new serial number to upgrade your version.

    1. Open Sage 2015

    2. Click on the Help menu select Sage 50 Activation, Licensing  and Subscription Options.

    3. Select Change your current version

    4. Enter your new serial number and click OK.

    5. The Sage program may close and restart. If it does not close Sage and reopen it.

    6. When going from Complete 2015 to Premium 2015 will get the Conversion Wizard. Go ahead and follow the screens to update your data. This will have to be done for each company you have setup.

    7. If Sage does not automatically re-activate click on the Help menu select Sage 50 Activation, :Licensing and Subscription Options. Choose to Activate Online. Click ok when done.

    8. Click on Help menu select Sage 50 Subscription Updates. Choose Online and click OK.

    End

If we upgrade to Sage Quantum 50 with our renewal of sage business care plan how long do we have to switch over to Quantium?  Is there a drop dead date when my Sage 50 for Distribution accounting will not work with our Sage payment solutions, PR updates, etc.....?  Did not get a strait answer when talking to sales Dept.  We just need to be able to schedule our IT people to handle the install of Quantum.

    Hi Power,

If you are using Sage 50 2013 you can continue to use it and get your payroll updates until the 2013 version becomes obsolete. You will be OK to wait to install Sage 50 2015.

    Kathleen,

Actually we are using Sage 50 2015 accounting for distribution.  Is this going to be obsolete soon & when?
