Automatically Build Sub-Assemblies

SOLVED

My company is using Sage 50 Quantum Accounting 2016.  We started setting up some final products as assemblies.  The BOM for these top level assemblies is comprised of sub-assemblies and these sub-assemblies are in turn made of their own assemblies.  For example say product A is made of B & C and say B is an assembly that's made of D & E.  We have created stocked item numbers for A, B, C, D, & E.  We receive raw stock into inventory and have enough of D & E to build B.  We also have enough of C to build A.  However, when we try to build A, Peachtree says that there is insufficient stock of B even though there is enough of D & E to build B.

How can we make Peachtree pull the needed stock and automatically build sub-assemblies?  This is a basic example, but our product actually has 200+ parts spread over 20+ sub-assemblies.  It would be too cumbersome to have to manually build every sub-assembly for each unit shipped.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sage 50 Quantum by itself won't auto-build sub-assemblies. If you do a lot of sub-assemblies you should consider upgrading to Sage 50 Quantum Manufacturing Edition, which is Quantum bundled with MISys Manufacturing. MISys can auto-build sub-assemblies up to 16 layers deep. Check out this video: https://misysinc.com/autobuild/

The basic model of Quantum Mfg Ed is that MISys handles the manufacturing process, then passes the finished goods into your Sage 50 inventory so you can invoice it and continue with the rest of the accounting process as normal.
