Can you look at the Subject-To Report for the ILSUI which is probably on the Report - Tax Preperation - Subject to Employer?  Will the Subject-To amounts for ILSUI be the same even though you had the wrong limits set up?  This is a piece of information I think we'd need to know before we can suggest what you need to do to fix the problem.

The subject to limit increased for 2023 and the percentage changed.

Did anyone meet the subject to limit for 2022 in the first payroll?  Run the report from Reports - Tax Preparation - Subject to Employer and look at the ILSUI Subject-To amounts for each employee.  Did they meet the old limit? 

The reason we need to know is that there is a tool called "Recalculate Subject-To".  If they didn't exceed the 2022 limit or the 2023 limit during the first payroll, you will not need to use this tool.  However, we need to be certain. 

And if we don't need to use this tool, there are a couple of options on how to fix the tax based on the new percentage because that would be the only needed correction. 

I'm going to GUESS no one met the 2022 limit in Subject-To wages for ILSUI.  So here's the  better option to fix only the tax:

With this option, you will choose it to be the second check,  you won't enter any earnings, you'll click the "Tax" box, then Click the Emplr Tax Box, Enter the tax code ILSUI and enter the additional tax.  So if the tax it calculated on the first payroll run was $20 but should have been $22 at the new rate, you'll enter $2 for the tax.  Process as they say, look at the check detail to be sure it only shows an amount you entered in the employer tax,  and then assign it a manual check number. 

The other option is to setup ILSUI to be self adjusting for a short period of time.  Sage doesn't recommend using this method and probably isn't good for everyone if they aren't comfortable understanding it.  But here is the article that explains how you can do this.

Remember, the tax is based on ILSUI Subject-To Wages (not Gross Wages) so you're going to need that report to help if you choose the first option... Good Luck!

Thanks for the informaiton.  Since this was only the first payroll no one reched the limit.  I will enter the manual checks to get the SUI corrected in the system.
