Can you adjust a A/R balance directly into a GL Loan account thru the Adjust AR?

You can. If under the Adjustment Type, you choose a Customer Credit, you can choose the Dr and Cr accounts in the Distribution. So, you can Dr the loan account and cr the accounts receivable account.
