What version of Sage 300 CRE are you using?

There are option in the crystal report to compile the report data on the server - but seeing that both are very slow it could be the size of the data and how the reports were written.  Meaning are there conditions eliminating what you don't need.  There is also a method of applying SL methods to Crystal report that will really speed them up.

What sort of SQL methods can be applied?  My experience is with writing stored procedures on SQL Server for use by Crystal, but I think that is not possible with the Sage CRE Pervasive database.

By default it will compile on the workstation. However; as of version 12.1 there is an option for remote printing.

There is a Sage 300 CRE help topic on Remote Printing

"The remote printing feature harnesses the processing power of your accounting or
report server, rather than your workstation, to print Report Designer (RD) and
Crystal (CR) reports. Reports may print significantly faster using the remote
printing feature."

Casey, I am on Sage Desktop Help in the application and I'm getting "No topics found" on a Search for "remote printing".  

I have looked on this site, on Sage.com, and at Sage University and I cannot find a knowledge base.  Could you give me a link to the knowledge base?

Though the speed of your system can have an impact on the speed at which a report retrieves it's information, a major impact can also be due to the size of the database the report is running from.  Since your report is based off transactions how quickly it retrieves it's information can be impacted by the number of years worth of transactions that are in your current files.

If your company has been using Sage 300 CRE software for more than a few years then you may want to consider moving older information to a history file.  To learn how to do this in Job Cost select the Help menu and click on the 'Index' tab.  type the word 'moving' which will bring you to a list of items that can be moved.  Double-click on 'transactions' and review the information pertaining to this task.
