Sage Fixed Assets Release 2024.1 is now available!

We’ve got exciting news—Sage Fixed Assets 2024.1 has arrived! It’s packed with essential U.S. tax updates and smart new features to elevate your asset management game. Stay compliant effortlessly and embrace the ease and efficiency of our latest enhancements, all designed with your business in mind.

What’s new

  • Tax compliance—We’ve included important U.S. tax updates in this release to keep you compliant.
    • The maximum Section 179 deduction and threshold amounts increased to $1,220,000 and $3,050,000, respectively, for tax years beginning in 2024.
    • The Section 179 deduction for Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) is $30,500 for tax years beginning in 2024.
    • The depreciation caps for Automobiles (property type A) and Light Trucks and Vans (property type T) increased for vehicles placed in service during 2024.
    • The Audit Advisor is updated to check your assets for common compliance issues.
    • Form 4562 now supports both the 2022 and 2023 tax years, giving businesses more flexibility. Companies can update to this release for the latest tax compliance and features and still run a fileable form for 2022.
  • Sage Intacct Purchasing integration*—In addition to our two-way integration with Sage Intacct’s GL and AP modules, Sage Fixed Assets now integrates with Sage Intacct’s Purchasing module for efficient asset creation and management.
  • Sage Fixed Assets Ally—Explore our new AI chatbot, Ally. Ally (pronounced “AL-eye”) is designed to provide quick answers to your queries within Sage Fixed Assets. Ally is currently in Beta. Please check it out and give us your feedback in our 3-question survey available within the Ally feature.
  • Quicker QIP Property Entry: Save time and increase accuracy with new default estimated lives for Qualified Improvement Property (QIP).

Here are just a few highlights from our most recent releases. See what you’ve been missing! 

  • Asset Maintenance*—Part of Sage Fixed Assets—Tracking. Discover how to manage asset maintenance efficiently with this new feature introduced in Sage Fixed Assets 2024.0.
  • Key tax reports within Batch Reports—Pick up the kids on time, fit in some much-needed grocery shopping, or leave earlier for that trip you’ve been looking forward to. Now run tax reports, including Form 4562, in Batch Reports. Creating multiple versions of each report, with different groups and books, and running them in a batch saves valuable time you can spend doing other things. Talk about a productivity boost! Introduced in Sage Fixed Assets 2024.0.
  • Full support for French and Spanish-accented characters—Parlez-vous français? or ¿Hablas español? Now, data entry will be more familiar and easy! Introduced in Sage Fixed Assets 2024.0.
  • Group name added to Batch Report naming convention—For Batch Reports, the Group selected for each report is now included in the exported file name to easily identify the contents of the file. Introduced in Sage Fixed Assets 2023.1.
  • Crystal Reports runtime SP30—The SAP Crystal Reports component used for reports within Sage Fixed Assets was updated to Service Pack (SP) 30. This update adds security improvements and a new export option to Microsoft Excel XLSX. Introduced in Sage Fixed Assets 2023.1.
  • Check for duplicate Title names—The title of a customized field is now required to be unique. This enhancement eliminates potential confusion when viewing fields throughout the application. Introduced in Sage Fixed Assets 2023.1.
  • Integration with Sage Intacct Accounts Payable*—For our customers using Sage Intacct, now seamlessly create assets in Sage Fixed Assets from Sage Intacct Accounts Payable (AP) bills. Need to see an asset's bill later? You can open and view the related AP bill in Sage Intacct with a click of a link within Asset Detail. Introduced in Sage Fixed Assets 2023.0.
  • My Asset List Views—Effortlessly change the data in the asset list to display exactly what you need and save different views of the Asset List to switch between them quickly and easily. The views are even available across companies! Introduced in Sage Fixed Assets 2023.0.
  • Last Scan Date—Our customers using Sage Fixed Assets—Tracking will love this new feature that gives you instant insight into the date each asset was last scanned, making it faster and easier than ever to know the state of your fixed assets. Introduced in Sage Fixed Assets 2023.0.

If you're updating from Sage Fixed Assets 2023.1 or later, it is quick and easy to download the 2024.1 release via Sage Advisor Update. If you are using version 2023.0 or prior, follow the steps to download the release from the Sage Knowledgebase.

Sage Advisor Update (version 2023.1 or newer)

Sage Advisor Update may have already notified you about the availability of this release via a pop-up message in the Microsoft Windows system tray. Didn’t get the notification? No problem—follow the steps below to get the release via Sage Advisor Update:

  1. Go to Start, All Programs, Sage, and select Sage Advisor Update.
  2. If the 2024.1 release is not listed, click Check for Updates.
  3. After the release is found, select it, click Download & Install or Download Only and follow the prompts to complete the process.

Sage Knowledgebase

To upgrade to Sage Fixed Assets 2024.1, download the product update from the Sage Knowledgebase or contact your Sage business partner:

  1. Click the following link to open the Download Portal article: Sage Fixed Assets Download Portal
  2. If you are not logged on, click Log in on the right-hand corner of the page.
  3. Select your product to download.
