Differences in "LINE" variables (NOL, nolign, NBLIG)

Question

Hello, 
 Can anyone clarify to me the difference between the variables NOL, nolign, and NBLIG ? I know that NBLIG is a grid variable for all line screens which represents the number of lines on the grid, and that "nolign -1 " references the current line, but am confused as to the difference between the 3 in a development environment.

NBLIG – Gives you the number of lines in the grid 
nolign – Is a system variable that gives you the number of the current line 
NOL - Is just a user declared variable that you use when identifying which line you want to read, update…. you could use nolign -1 or similar to accomplish that but it is easier to use a short variable. Also, many times you want to loop through all records in the grid and not only the current line so you use another variable.
