temporary password

How long is the temporary password assigned to user active until the user changes it?  Is there an expiration date , lets say 2 days where the temporary password will expire and need to be reset if the user doesn't change it?

    I'm reaching out again for help on this.  When I create a temporary password for a user it seems to become void after two days.  Where can I find the setting to increase the time?   If a user starts on a Monday, I would create the account the Friday before but by Monday the user cannot use the temp password.  Any help is appreciated.  thanks
