the installation is not completed i still need full x3 installation with classsic component and core component. pls assist

There are two possible install guides.  There is the install directions from the Help File, which is ok but not great, and then there is the V6.5 install and patching guide that Sage NA would hand out during various trainings.

The file that Chris.Hann provided was what we used for years as a guiding document for installs and teaching installs.

Can you please clarify what exactly you need, or what steps are causing you issues?

Alternatively, why are you installing V6 and not something more recent?  That version is up to 12 years old at this point.

But all of that being said, if you use the file provided by Chris, that is a step by step guide through all of the components and configurations and even includes the SQL install and configuration.

If you can be more specific, I will try and help though.

ok, got it.   You Needed the Installation guide, then you needed the installation Media.   Maybe needed both from the beginning.

Full install media, I don't have that and you will need to contact Sage directly vis Customer Service or your Partner/Customer account manager.

I am not sure that you can go from V6.5 straight to 12, that is probably something that you can find out in the help files.  It used to be only 2 versions at a time, 6 is a big jump... but i know its possible, i have seen customers migrate 6.5 to 12 recently.   I just do not know there process.

Why do you need a new install of X3 V6.5 though to access the 6.5 data?    Do you not currently have an operating 6.5 solution?

My opinion is that if you can explain your complete scenario, it will be easier to try and assist you with it.

Worse case though, if you have access to a functional V6.5 solution, you should be able to extract the data to a new SVG directory, then copy the Folder and its X3_PUB folder over to a V12 solution, import it and validate it.   That will PROBABLY NOT BE PERFECT but it may be a good start to see what you have.

There could be deprecated regional addons to deal with, and alot of cleanup to be done, IF it would even work.

This is the senario, i have a backup folder in x3 version 6 and i want to upgrade to version 12. then i need the complete installation file to install so that i can import the folder from v6 then i can start the upgrade to v12. presently i only have the backup folder which i need to install v6 to access the data before i can do upgrade. But i will appreciate if you have any other method to upgrade that will need require installation of v6 please share. Thanks

Your best bet is to either get the software from Sage, and a V6 license so you can actually create the environment, or work with a partner that has a V6 envrionment already installed and can create the folder for you, and then do the extraction and folder copies in preparation for the import.

honestly, that is probably the easiest approach.

It would be very helpful though if you knew what patch level this backup folder is at.   I THINK V6P20 or P24 is 6.5?  Its been a long time.
