Hi Dave. With the standard loan process you can only return in your stock the quantity that are not invoiced (after a partiel invoice). To manage consignement stock, you can look at this previous discussion: www.sagecity.com/.../customer-consignment-stock-management

Thank you for your reply Julien. We actually don't want to return any inventory into our stock. We consign it to the customer, they consume portions of the inventory, we invoice on a bi-weekly basis. The goal is to invoice partially against the quantity that was loaned. I am not sure how the inventory would be consumed though.

Hi Dave. The loan process does not lend itself to a real-world consignment process you are trying to solve for.  You will have to use sites and/or locations to manage this process.  Let us know if you want to take the conversation down this road or if you understand the possibilities.

At this point I think we're just going to create locations and move material into those locations. We will create a Sales Order and allocate the material so MRP doesn't see it as available. We can then do deliveries against the sales order as material is consumed.

The one caveat is getting the material shipped to the customer. We will create a delivery against the sales order to create paperwork etc. and then afterward delete the delivery. We think this is a decent work-around.

Dave, you are heading down the right path.  I would argue that it makes more sense to do a different site so you can get your delivery paperwork.  The site would have multiple addresses, one for each consignment customer. 

Creating a dummy delivery could create more problems if it gets validated.
