Sales Order Allocation Issues

SOLVED

Problem Statement:

In our business we produce spools of material that do not always weigh exactly the same all the time. When we sell a certain number of spools there is a total weight (Let's say 500Lbs) the customer wants. On the Sales Order Line, the quantity to allocate will be 500Lbs. We may have spools that add up to 510Lbs. When doing the detailed selection of product Sage will limit the allocation to 500Lbs. What ends up happening, if a user doesn't go in and manually update it, is that we will end up with a "partial" spool for say 10Lbs due to Sage limiting the allocation. Is there a way to turn this off so when the user selects the detailed product Sage will update the qty to allocate accordingly?

Any insight into a possible solution would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Dave, Technically, when you modify the quantity to allocate on the sales order, system will automatically create a second line under allocations to insert the new quantity of 10 Lbs.

    - Ordered quantity on the sales order will not change to 510 Lbs.

    - Delivered quantity will be 510 Lbs.

In my exercise on v12.0.30, I used global allocation on the SO and received the product into several locations.

Probably I am missing some steps but you can open a support ticket with your local support to further troubleshoot this issue.
