Period Status Change

SOLVED

Hi,

User was trying to open period in the new month unfortunately couldn't select "No" in the next months so only intended month's period is opened as a result ended up opening entire year which is not right. Someone kindly assist on how I can change later periods status back to Not open.

One period at a time i think.

Here is what i found in the boot camp material.   I am not sure this is standard or i edited the material after i messed this up trying to get "clever" and save time in class. It's been awhile but i think i opened multiple years.

Instructions.... "Run period close and year end close (do one year at a time)  "

So i believe i did multiple years and according to my notes the fix was "Now you will have to close all the periods for the first year, then close the year and repeat until you get to point where the only open year and periods are for the 12th period of the previous year and the current year.

I haven't gotten it correct, Stephen, as I cant close entire year as we are in the middle of the year where one month has to stay opened

Hello Ehk, You can use the Period closing function in Financials, Utilities, Closing to reset the period status to "Not open" provided no movements were recorded against those periods.

Thanks for your input Joel, I followed the path but next fiscal year period is displayed rather than the ones I want to close as in screenshot below. May be there's special procedure I have to follow?
