We have a client that some times receipt without the correct serial number.

If the error is recent and if the stock still exist, best would be to delete the transaction and re-create it.
Else, there are no utilities to fix this.
If the stock exists, I guess you can always do a stock count (or misc. issue & mic. receipt) but then the traceability is lost. So probably the best way, would be to create a work order (where the parent product is the only component as well), and track the incorrect SN as component and produce the 'correct' SN. At least, the stock value and traceability is good at the end.
After the shipment, I can only think to do a customer return and process to the SN change as explained in the previous sentence. Finally, you re-do the shipment.
Anyone has a better suggestion?
