Installed base Applicable warranty vs warranty contract

Hello,

I can't find the purpouse of 'Applicable warranty' vs a created warranty service contract. What is the purpouse of each funcion? And in 'Applicable warranty', what happen if we update the related contract template after the installed base record was created.

Hi Jonathan,

From the online help

"Applied coverage

"This field is used to enter the service contract covering the installed base record. The field Applicable warranty from the General tab, is used to establish any differences between the services due ( Applicable warrantyfield) and the agreed services Contract denominationfield).

"Certain coverage can inherit the specific characteristics of service contracts."

I see it, but i don't understant eh definition and the purpouse of Applicable Warranty.
