Production BOM import with Version control (Major Only) PU9

I need to import Production BOMs and have to incorporate version control. We are only using the Major version. Has anyone succeeded in creating a template? Or is this a lost cause?

We are having the same issue. Seems to be a lost cause for now. Suppose to be fix in P11...
