Defining a prompt for a field

SUGGESTED

I get a warning when trying using "show prompt" on a group dimension. I looked at the admin guide and didn't really see how that was done. Would one of the gurus explain how to add that to the process definition? Version 8 here. Thanks in advance.Thinking

    Hello John,

On the Command Center, there is a "Prompt" folder. I will give an example from sales. Go to subfolder "Sales" under the Prompt folder. Right click on the "Order Number" process and select "Design process".

In the design process, select the "Order Number" column. You will see on the row "Parameter name"= OrderNumber. This parameter can be found under "Global Parameters", on the main Administration (spanner icon) menu.

While still on the design process, select "Process Properties" (the cancelled spanner icon). On the popup, under "Behaviour", "Select distinct records" should be ticked/selected.

On opening the view Sales->Orders->Orders by customer and Show prompt on the Group Order Number, you should see the selection of order numbers.
