The Namibian Social Security Commission has implemented the National Employment and Salary Protection Scheme for Covid-19 (SSC Stimulus Package). This is an employment scheme designed to dissuade employers from retrenching employees in the short term and to support individuals who have suffered a loss of income as a result of Covid-19.
The scheme consist of 2 programs –
- The Employer Wage Subsidy Program, and
- The Affected Employees Program
They published some guidelines on how to complete the National Employment and Salary Protection Scheme application form. Please see attached Guide on the Covid-19 Electronic Submission.
If employees/employers qualify and wants to apply, please guide customers to extract the required information from X3 HR and Payroll.
An ‘Other entry’ query will need to be created to populate the information required for this form. Please follow the setup in the attached documents (Sage X3 HR & Payroll – Other Entries) to create the ‘Other entry’ query. It is important to note that these documents explains the setup of Other Entries on the system, but does not specifically relate to information required for Namibia’s employment scheme.
