    Hi Chantal

caps lock and num lock have différent functions. If you use the numbers above the letters, (1 to 0 in a row), neither will have effect.

However, using num lock will enable the  numeric key pad à the right side or your keyboard. Another press of num lock wil disable the numeric key pad as num lock is a toggle switch.

Maybe you don't have a separated numeric pad on the keyboard, then numbers avec on the letters. You'll get them with Fn (function). Better buy a usb numeric keypad if you have many numbers to enter!

    Regards,

    Danielle

Danielle, i know how keypads are working!!!  i have a problem with SAGE that turns on automatically the cap locks and, that won't let me type numbers...

this doesn't answer at all the matter here... i've called your customer service and, nobody, after 1h and 47 min was able to help me.. keep transferring and give me tickets number.  So, technical support is not so good , let me tell you that!

I'm not a Sage tech, so it's not "my" customer service. I agree with you that customer service is horrible at first touch.

Was just trying to help you, I still don't understant what caps lock has to do with numbers.

    Good luck!

Chantel is your keyboard hard wired or wireless?  If it is wireless it could be the batteries that is causing you problems.  When my batteries get low they will do odd and unusual things.

Chantel, it may be a windows problem:  I found this, try this and see if it helps.  This is the original post: Windows 10 Number Lock Help. This has caused a lot of frustration for many people. I have now discovered the fix for this issue which was actually right underneath our noses. Navigate to: Change Mouse key settings > Mouse > Use mouse keys when Num Lock is on > off.

This is happening to us as well, but this does not solve the problem. Have you found a solution?

OMG this happens to me constantly... has been for past 4 years... Drives me insane. I'm in the middle of typing an long invoice description with capital letters and numbers and  then it stays on caps and will not let me type numbers. I have to shrink what i'm working on. open a blank email or work doc and just type keys from the number pad and then go back in to sage and they work. It's almost like it looses the connection in Sage. THIS IS THE ONLY PROGRAM I HAVE  THIS DREADFUL ISSUE WITH...

Angela, please read through this thread. There is a post from Angela Gault from 10 months ago.

There is a resolution!  It has to do with the power management in the computer.  I spoke with Mauro Azzano.  He had me go into the control panel, device manager, network adapter and realtec.  I then unchecked "allow the computer to turn off this device".    THIS has worked for me.  I hope it is okay that I posted his email but he was patient and knowledgeable.

Give this a try. It seems to work.

I don't have Realtec in my network adaptor. and by the way this has happened at several of my clients computors  with Sage..... So it is not a computor issue.. this happened with my usb keyboard and mouse as well as my new wireless  keyboard and mouse and as I said on several peoples I consult with.... Extremely frustrating... I have emailed Mauro  and perhaps he can solve this issue.... I still feel this is a program issue in Sage and NO OTHER program on all of the computors I work with does this happen.  Fingers crossed Mauro can help me. and maybe Sage software writers can fix this issue

Angela, you are so right. I wrote to them 10 months ago and still nothing resolved. What i have found is it does that when i use the '' : colon'' key. Right after typing that key (: colon), it automatically put me in caps lock and, stop me from using my keypad. I then have to type in any other documents to bring back my keypad. really, really anoying. If you do find the solution, PLEASE, post it here!!!

    good luck!
