Problem:
Sage Line 50 Accounts is not international trade friendly.
Other than Commodity Codes and the allowance to add trade contacts from outside of the company's 'home country', there seems to be little else which makes international trade handling easy.
Proposal:
Product codes to have an 'International Trade' tab, including such things as
- Commodity Code,
- Country of Origin,
- option to 'tick' or field as neccesary for whether certificates are required
- option to 'tick' or field as neccesary for whether licences are required
Sales Orders to have an 'International Trade' tab, including such things as
- INCOTERMS
- Mode of Transport
- AWB / Bill of Lading / CMR
- Payment Terms
- Payment Method
'Footer' tab to include Packing details and cost
Purchase Orders to include information as above + whether insurance has been requested
Provision of premade layouts for Imports and Exports such as commercial invoices, purchase orders, import clearance 'crib sheet' (created from purchase orders to send to customs / freight forwarders) etc.
Benefits:
Sage will be more international trade friendly.
Users will be confident they have provided minimum information to customers, suppliers and customs agents etc.
Users can hande imports and exports more efficiently
