I have scanned and printed copies of the check stock stub portion only and print on those.  My company scans and emails individually each of the pay stubs anyway (not using my assistant), and so we don't really need something that is perforated.  It isn't as pretty as a printed and perforated stub, but it is certianly way more cost effective. 

You can add the same report that My Assistant uses -add it to your Report menu in Payroll.  I have downloaded it from the KB but as a Consultant I have different access so hopefully you can get it. It's a Crystal report that can be modified as needed (it prints Fringes so I usually suppress them).

I feel silly now...I actually downloaded the report from a couple of older KB articles yesterday. I tried to open them in report designer, and I received an error message that they needed to be updated. I thought that they were an old version, but now I realize I need to open them in Crystal Reports. Thanks!

We used to send out on plain paper however with the new wage theft laws we found that some banking and loan processing companies did not accept the plain paper forms.  We had to use direct deposit forms with headers and our company name and address to be accepted as a valid document.

We upload a text document to our banks online portal. I'm asking about a direct deposit report to give to our employees each week in lieu of a check form.

Correct, our employees were finding that the plain paper documents they received were being rejected by financial and legal firms.  We had to switch to a printed check form to avoid being rejected.  Also certified payroll proof of payment was not allowed on plain paper documents either.

So is PrintBoss not an option?  It is a 3rd party software that I have noticed several companies using as an alternative to handing out direct deposit pay stubs.

It generates the direct deposit advice and emails it to the employee.  Just curious since you mentioned plain paper documents were not accepted (in some instances).

We actually had to have a Crystal report designed for us, there was no other option.

I may have to edit the report a little bit to show our employee's remaining vacation hours totals, but other than that, the reports linked on this article are exactly what I was looking for.

That's strange. My wife works for a very large bank, and most of their employees receive direct deposit notification by email. Strange that they haven't run into that.

It was just more economical for us to have printed direct deposit forms instead of buying another program.  What would really be a benefit is for SAGE to have the ability to send directly to a site that employees could log into and get their own information when needed.  We are trying to find an "interoffice" program that will work with little cost investment.

I looked into Sage MyAssistant, but it's very expensive for just a means to send out pay stubs. I haven't heard of PrintBoss before.

hh2 Remote Payroll is what we're using. They do have an add-on where employees can retrieve their paystub information through the app. Still, I was looking for a cheap option that I could do myself.

Our next step is direct deposit for accounts payable, are we going to run into the same issues with that module?  Does anyone know?

Is there anyone currently using PrintBoss who could provide some feedback to me on whether they like it, and does it work for the employees when they need to provide a copy of their paycheck for income verification, etc.

It is only $795 to purchase the software, and then about $100 per year for maintenance.

How is this add-on working for you guys?  Was it easy to implement?  I'm starting to use HH2 for AP.  What do you use?

I have implemented PrintBoss at several clients for this purpose and for check printing.  It's a very easy to use add-on that once you have defined your banks and forms, it draws the form to print to plain paper or blank check stock.  You can email direct deposits to employees and remittance advice to Vendors in which you pay electronically. 

The added benefit is as all these mergers with banks happen or fraud on an operating account requiring closure, it makes it easy to change bank account information so you no longer need to order new forms.  Just go into the software and change the Routing Number and/or Bank Account Number.

It is acceptable to Financial Institutions because it is an actual paystub with all the required elements, boxes, totals, etc.

I was told with PrintBoss you could also setup make the forms available on a website so each employee could go to the website and print out their own paystub as needed. I'm not sure what the difference is between emailing and a website but it sounds like both are options.

I set up a watermark in Adobe, so after Sage generates the notifications I just click to add the watermark. Took a little bit to get the watermark set up correctly, but after that it was super easy. Now we use HH2 paystubs and I don't deal with them at all 

Is your report design in Crystal or not?

No, we have ours set up to PDF the direct deposit notifications so it is just through regular Adobe. 

Are they the standard DD from form Report Designer?  

I believe so. They would print on the Sage DD stock paper you can order from the Sage CRE forms website. Under Tasks>Modify Check forms it was set up when i started. We used to copy a CRE form and print onto those but it was time consuming so i just copied the fields from the DD stock into Word and then printed to Adobe. Getting the lines adjusted properly was the hard part.
