Charles, that worked great for our make to order products!. On the make to stock we get something similar. I have 4 WOF's (4,000 each)to cover the week's demand (0 in days bucket) but MRP is suggesting increase the 1st WOF to 16,000 and cancel the other 3. We have a restriction on max WOF qty on the shop floor. Do you know of a setting that will overlook that?

Under "setup > stock -> requirement parameters", under MRP calculation 2 tab, maybe change the WOF replanning rule to "decrease" only. So if MRP thinks you need more, it would give you a new WOS instead.

Actually what worked in that scenario was 'no processing' on replanning. What we found was using different requirement parameters for make to order vs make to stock. So, for WOF's the planning site points to the correct requirement parameter regardless of production site. The idea being the planning site isn't an actual facility, just the rules of that requirement parameter. Working well.

On a side note we discovered that MRP picks greater of SOF/SOS only if the forecast offset in the requirement parameter is checked. Perfect for us because we control where that happens by manipulating the firm/demand horizons and the forecasts. Allows us to build to actual to a certain horizon, build to safety to the next, then add actual/safey/forecast after. Manufacturing - gotta love the math...

could you try to:

in product-site set the technical lot at 4000

in the reordering polixy associated with your manucfactured item

      set the reorder quantity at minimum quantity with rounding

      and in splitting choose between parallel or successive as you need
