Please be informed that you have to upload the zip file with the patches, e.g.: x3-patch-12-0-20.zip
If that doesn't work, just download it again, Maybe it is damaged.

I tried so far to upload the Patch 20 file and it works without your error.

"Cannot read property 'status' of null"

Start and stop batch server manualy worked fine and 'status' is not null.

Hello,
We have solved our problem.

We had to delete the batch server via MongoDB in the batchserver collection (with robomongo) then re-register the X3 solution to recreate the batch server.
After that, we reconfigured and started the batch server then started the update.
