I'm looking for where the Entry Batch counter is configured. As mentioned in previous question we are having issue with duplicate entry batch record being locked. If anyone knows would appreciate assistance. thank you

Hi Christine,
The standard Sequence Number structure is PYL. In Sequence Number Assignments, this is assigned under A/P - A/R accounting, Payment Entry Batches (Line 7).
Best regards,
Nick
Thanks, Nick. We see now that the sequence is 3 digits and we are at the limit so the users counter is reverting back to the first number. Would you know the ramifications of not using the entry batch, i.e. leaving it blank?
Hi Christine,
You could always extend the sequence counter to 4 digits and then use the Sequence Number Values function (Development > Utilities > Miscellaneous) to set the next sequence number to 1000?
That would give you another 9000 sequence numbers and still use the Batch Entry function.
Best regards,
Nick
would you know if there would be any issues in changing the counter to 4 for other users? assume that the system will just use the next sequence # for them. This is what we'd like to do but want to make sure we don't upset anything by making this change. thanks so much for help! Christine
Hi Christine, it shouldn't cause any issues. All users will just pick up the amended sequence counter with the next record created based on the next sequence number value.
Adding an additional digit to the sequence number length won't create any duplicates as you won't have anything over 999 in the associated tables.
Best regards,
Nick
thanks so much Nick! very helpful. Have a great day.
