My question really comes down to proper setup of the QC module for X3.

When product is produced via a Work Order, it is setup as such that a Quality Analysis record will be created as well against that Lot/Sublot produce.. We enter QC, etc. and all is well.

However, if the product was created in error and shouldn't have been produced, I've typically gone into the Production Tracking record, done a Stock Trx Modification to delete the sublot and all is well. Now, with this new layer of Quality Analysis, it will tell me there is insufficient stock. The sublot is the same status and in the same location. Nothing has happened to it since creation. I try to delete the Quality Analysis record, but then get the mess in the subject line, "Warning, it will no longer be possible to modify the document that originated this quality control. : Continue?" I can't modify it anyway, so I go ahead and delete the Quality Analysis. I still cannot delete the sublot.

Is there some configuration in X3 that allows me to delete a production tracking record that is produced with a lot and sublot, and that is expecting QC Analysis? I've had to resort to SQL and X3 utilities to get it removed, but I'm sure there is a recommended setup that I should be doing. Hoping someone can help me out. Thank you!

Hello Michael, The production tracking record with a lot, sublot managed item and a QC request can be deleted using the Stock txn modification. The insufficient available stock: deletion impossible ! error message can be due to a stock desynchronization or some other reason. I would try running the FUNSTOR and FUNSTOWIPW utilities against the finished product to fix such issues and check the Detailed stock inquiry to check the available quantity and if it has been allocated or not. Or it could be an orphaned allocation in STOALL table.

Thank you Joel! I will try the utilities you mentioned. It does seem to happen for almost every production tracking within a relatively short time of product creation and before anything has happened with it. I do know that having a Quality Analysis record on a product can be a reason for this message, but deleting that also prevents changes to Production Tracking. Let me try the utilities though next time it occurs (the situation only arises periodically) and will report back. Appreciate your advice.

    Hi Joel,

We are running into a similar issue. A production entry was with a lot was over completed. This was caught after entering a handful of quality control data. As soon as 1 quality control record is entered the stock modification action is no longer available in production entry. We are looking for a way to go back and correct the production entry stock transactions.  Is there anyway to perform the stock modiifcation.

    Thank you,
