Allocation rules for Service Request movement types

SOLVED

In Product Category > Issue flow it is possible to assign Allocation Rules to Movement Types as listed in the Management Rules grid. There is one Movement Type where I can't figure out which allocation rule could be used for that: Service Requests.

I've tried the allocation rules available with the goal of restricting the stock issue to a specific location type (and had done the setup of product-site etc. as needed) but none seemed to do the trick, i.e. it was always possible to select stock from any location during the Stock Issue for a Consumption on a Service Request.

Is it possible to use allocation rules like this for Service Request movement types?

The help for the Stock Issues field in the Service Request mentions the below, which seems to imply that a Service Request > Consumption > Stock Issue does not do a stock allocation?

The stock issue for the consumptions does not correspond to a stock line allocation.

The help for the allocation rules mentions nearly all movement types explicitly but not the service requests. So I'm a bit at a los/confused and hope you can shed a light on this.

Allocation rules

  • Order - A code is attached to each rule. This code is defined in the allocation rules table.
  • Work order - Specify the allocation rule to be applied to work orders. This code refers to the allocation and issue rules table.

Issue rules

  • Shipment - Specify the assignment rule to be applied to deliveries and pickings.
  • Material consumption - Specify the assignment rule to be applied to work orders and material tracking (for materials not attached to subcontract operations).
  • Internal movement - Specify the assignment rule to be applied to internal movements (miscellaneous issues, assembly/disassembly, transfers).
  • Subcontract dispatch - Specify the assignment rule to be applied to subcontract deliveries and consumption field reorder plan for subcontractor-type locations.
  • consumption - Specify the assignment rule to be applied to material tracking (for the materials assigned to subcontract operations).
This rule is also used in the subcons without WO (when allocating materials on a sub-contracting order).
