Sage X3 should allows the deletion of the stock record (on an open period) even if the related stock journal has been.

Another error alongside this one is "Accounting interface already in process", which you get if you try to delete receipt lines right away after receiving from a PO. Do you think they're related?

Could be. Indeed, if you are running the stock interface right after the creation of the stock transactions has been created, the stock interface will lock the record preventing any change or deletion on the related time. But I am not sure if the error message you get is matching this scenario. It seems to me this error message would be when you run the stock interface a second time while the previous run is not complete yet.

You can try to run the stock interface at night (outside business hours) to avoid locking issues.
