MRP for Raw Materials

My company recently migrated to X3 v7.  I would like to utilize the MRP module for raw material replenishment and would prefer a simple min/max process.

It doesn't seem that the MRP module functions with customary min/max logic.  I have been trying to set it up using the "MRP" Reorder Mode, but this does not have true min/max functionality.  Should I be using "ROP" instead?  If so, do the Reorder Threshold and Maximum Stock fields work hand in hand?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yes there are two different modes, reorder point and MRP.  MRP takes into account future requirements (such as a large sales order), reorder point does not.

ROP uses Reorder threshhold and Maxmimum stock,

MRP uses Safety Stock, EOQ, technical lot and reorder policy.

In order to use ROP, you have to use Inventory / Reordering / Stat reordering process to generate suggestions, then use Purchasing / Ordering / Enterprise Planning to view them.

With MRP you have to use Inventory / Reordering / MRP Proc process to generate suggestions, then use Purchasing / Ordering / Enterprise Planning to view them.
