To be able to provide any advise on this issue we need to know the OS on the server and each of the clients including the version of the OS. Also, we need to know the edition and version of your Sage 50 CDN program. I am thinking that the program is probably an older edition as you are referring to it as Simply Accounting which it hasn't been for many years.

How are the clients opening the Sage 50 data?   Have you tried using an icon with the server IP in the pathname, like:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage 50 Quantum Accounting Version 2018\Sage50Accounting.exe" \\192.168.12.1\sadata\OurCompany.SAI

I believe there is some sort of regular (or random) licensed user login check, and / or a timeout from the server.  I'm not sure why the connection would be timing out, possibly the (Sage 50 / MySQL data server daemon is only polling ports on its own subnet. 

Is there anything helpful in the Windows Event Logs?

We are using sage 50 premium accounting 2019, Server 2012 R2 for server and Windows 10 on client. Issue still happening.

Nothing could find from event log.  I'm going to try the path name as you suggested.
